Mr Tunde Lemo (OFR) - Chairman

Former Deputy Governor, Operations, Central Bank of Nigeria.

Mr Tunde Lemo is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria as well as the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. He has over 29 years of senior management experience in both the public and private sectors. In 1984, Mr Lemo graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), with a 1st class Bachelor of Science degree, in Accountancy. Whilst at UNN, he won 7 academic laurels, including the best overall graduating student in the Accounting Faculty. In 2002, Mr Lemo attended the Advanced Management Programme at the Wharton College, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, U.S.A; as well as several highly regarded executive training programmes in Harvard University, INSEAD, and Brandies University.

Mr Lemo served as Deputy Governor in charge of Operations, at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). During his time at the CBN, he drove the industry-wide shared services initiative towards achieving efficient banking services with 30% cost savings for the Nigerian banking industry and greater penetration of banking services. He also provided strategic direction and supervised 5 departments of the CBN including the Reserve Management, Banking and Payments System, Currency Operations, Branch Operations and Information Technology departments. Prior to this role, he was Deputy Governor of Financial Systems Surveillance. He is an experienced and versatile public officer and financial manager. His contributions to public policy span from the implementation of the Banking Sector Consolidation, to formulation and implementation of the Microfinance Policy and Supervisory Framework both under the supervision of the CBN Governor. During his time as Chairman of both the Abuja Security and Commodities Exchange and the Nigeria Export Import Bank; he led the restructuring of both institutions. As Vice Chairman of the Technical Committee for the establishment of Africa Finance Corporation, he actively participated in the establishment of the Pan-African investment institution where he currently serves as a Director.

Prior to his appointment as Deputy Governor, he also served as MD/CEO of Wema Bank Plc between 2000 and 2003; during which time he led the transformation of the institution resulting in the bank’s superlative performance and ultimately resulted in the bank being ranked amongst the top 10 most profitable commercial banks in Nigeria in 2003.

The Board has benefited from Mr Lemo’s international network; as well as his invaluable wealth of experience in the public and private sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Mr Kehinde Lawanson - Director

Mr Lawanson is a chartered surveyor and over the years he has accumulated a depth of experience from executive management positions in investment and commercial banking in Nigeria. Mr Lawanson graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka with a Bsc degree in Estate Management (1981); and also has an MBA in Finance from the University of Lagos.

He was an Executive Director (Corporate Banking), First Bank of Nigeria Plc. Prior to joining the Board of First Bank, he was Deputy General Manager/Group Head, National Corporate in the then Corporate Banking Directorate. In addition, Mr Lawanson was a Director of First Registrars Nigeria Limited and FBN Capital Limited; and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association. Mr Lawanson has a wealth of experience in banking spanning over 29 years with exposure to investment and commercial banking.

Mr Lawanson started his banking career in International Merchant Bank from during which time he was seconded to the defunct Intercity Bank Plc as Assistant General Manager. He held several executive positions in various banks prior to joining the erstwhile Gateway Bank as General Manager in 2001. He was promoted to the position of Executive Director and he later moved to First Bank in May 2004, to serve as Deputy General Manager in the Commercial Banking SBU of the bank.

Mr Lawanson has attended various courses and programmes in top rated business schools including Stanford, University of Manchester, INSEAD and Lagos Business School. He is an alumnus of the United Nations University and the World Bank Institute Washington.

Mr Ajibola Olaoniye - Director

Mr Ajibola Olaoniye is a Certified Public Accountant and an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He graduated with a B.Sc in Accounting from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He started his professional career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and has worked in several banks in Nigeria, including Allstates Trust Bank, Gateway Bank, and Intercontinental Bank. He currently works with Dangote Cement Company Plc as a General Manager.

Mr Reuben Sogaolu - Director

Mr Reuben Sogaolu is a knowledgeable and diverse Materials Management professional and a member of Materials Management Institute of Nigeria. He graduated with a B.Sc (Hon) in Statistics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He currently occupies a senior management position at Chevron Nigeria Limited. He has gained over 20 years’ experience from working on various assignments around the world including Escravos, Lagos, Port Harcourt and t he USA. He has also attended various courses in procurement both locally and internationally.

Mrs Yemi Lemo - Director

Mrs Yemi Lemo is a reputable teacher and school proprietress. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Prior to embarking on her career as a school proprietress, she was a teacher with the Lagos State Government for several years. She is currently the Executive Director of Leadforte Gate Limited, an organization that provides first class nursery, primary and secondary education in Ogudu GRA and Lekki-Awoyaya using world class teaching/instruction facilities. She is also a Director of Dapkik Ventures Ltd, a multi-purpose outfit with interest in real estate and logistics.
